60 Years of Doin' It Right
In the Beginning

After returning to South Bend following military and government service, George Cressy and Edward Everett Jr. met while employed with a local contractor selling small bungalows on the west side of South Bend. Eventually, the two co-workers decided to form a partnership and, in 1946 Cressy & Everett Realtors was born.

Cressy & Everett Realtors first office was located in the basement of the Rushton Apartment Building at the corner of William and Jefferson streets in South Bend, Indiana. As the business grew, Cressy & Everett Realtors made the move to a building at the corner of Belmont and Eddy streets, adding the area's first drive-through office. In 1965, Cressy & Everett Realtors purchased an office building at the corner of Ironwood and McKinley streets in South Bend.

In the mid 60's, George and Edward's two sons, Donald G. Cressy and Edward Everett, Jr. joined the company. The partnership was incorporated in 1970. In 1978, Cressy & Everett Realtors became a franchise of Better Homes & Gardens® Real Estate Service. GMAC Real Estate Service purchased Better Homes & Gardens® Real Estate Service in 1998 and Cressy & Everett Better Homes & Gardens® Real Estate Service became a GMAC franchise in May of 2000. In June of 2005 we became Cressy & Everett Real Estate, the local area's largest independent company.

Expansion offices in the next few years included Cleveland Road (1979), Elkhart (1980), Edwardsburg (1983), Goshen (1988) and Michigan City (1988), Dowagiac (1993), South (1990), Sister Lakes (1998) Three Rivers (2001) and Niles (2005).

Cressy & Everett Today

Today, Cressy & Everett Real Estate is a full-service real estate company primarily in the residential brokerage business with a separate Commercial, Insurance and Mortgage Companies.

Utilizing its 200+ sales associates, Cressy & Everett Real Estate one of the top five companies in the State of Indiana, also is ranked among the top 125 companies by National Relocation & Real Estate magazine's listing of the top 250 power brokers nationally.

In addition to the exclusive Cressy & Everett Real Estate HOMES magazine with a circulation of over 230,000 buyers annually, prospective clients may be reached via the Cressy & Everett Real Estate Homes Show each Sunday on the local NBC affiliate, WNDU and SBT2.

Further setting Cressy & Everett Real Estate apart from other companies is its use of the Home Selling System. This system allows a Cressy & Everett Real Estate sales associate to advertise a listing by transmitting interior and exterior photos of the home along with price, address and other pertinent sales information via the following web sites:
